Build the Dotte
Prioritize Development Over Empty Lots
It’s time to put the 150+ vacant land bank lots in the 8th District to work. Leveraging the new land bank policy and economic development incentives, we’ll streamline processes to encourage development and collaborate with private property owners to transform underutilized land into housing, businesses, and community spaces—no more letting empty lots hold our neighborhoods back.Fix Our Roads—Without Overburdening Property Owners
Potholes and crumbling curbs shouldn’t be the norm. We need innovative funding solutions—like sales tax revenue, state/federal grants, and public-private partnerships—to repair infrastructure without relying solely on property tax hikes. Let’s modernize our approach to keep streets safe and drive economic growth. -

Responsible Spending & Lower Taxes
Help Our Seniors/Disabled neighbors: I will continue hosting the annual 8th District Senior/Disability Resource Fair to help residents access local programs like Sales/Utility Tax Rebates and state programs like the Homestead, Safe Senior and Senior/Disabled Veteran tax relief opportunities.
Cut the Mill Levy: As property value continues to rise, I will continue to advocate for responsible reductions in the property city/county property tax rate to provide relief while keeping city services in mind. I will use this same approach for the BPU Pilot.
Maximize Grant Funding: Invest in professional grant writers for the UG to secure state, federal, and private funding—offsetting costs so residents pay less.
Keep Families in Their Homes: Support the Community Benefit Ordinance’s KCK Homes for Generations program (launching 2026) to prevent displacement and assist families in keeping home ownership in their possession.

Grow THE DOTTE
Support Local & Diverse Businesses
Set Clear Standards: Create Legislation that require the Unified Government (UG) to prioritize contracts with local, minority-owned, and women-owned businesses—ensuring our tax dollars reinvest in our community’s growth.
Support Neighborhoods & Small Businesses: Direct Hollywood Casino grant funding/Community Event budgets toward tangible neighborhood events and projects—parks, townhalls, cleanups, and local small businesses.
Keep Our Youth Here
Build a Future They Want to Stay For: Expand affordable housing, arts and culture, childcare access, and career pathways—so young talent sees Wyandotte County as a place to thrive, not leave.
This is possible through increasing Transient Guest Sales Tax revenue, renewing the Neighborhood Revitalization Act, exploring unique housing models, embracing LIHTC strategically, resurrecting the Small Business Grant program and hiring a Small Business Coordinator.
